WE AIM TO HELP KEEP OTR CLIENTS AND STAFF HEALTHY
UPDATE: June 18th, 2020
OTR has been managing the impact of the COVID-19 virus pandemic to the best of our ability as new information arrives daily. We appreciate your patience. Prior to telehealth our staff had been wiping down and spraying offices before and after each client on a regular basis as well as the rest of the areas in our office suites. We have had hand sanitizer ready for your use upon entering the waiting areas. We have put reminders throughout to wash hands and use the hand sanitizer. We are not able to see all clients physically in offices at this time but are prepping for when that can take place. Both of our offices are located in densely populated areas. Once resuming to in-person sessions masks and social distancing will be required inside the office buildings. We will be staggering appointments to our best ability to avoid any crowding in waiting areas and sanitizing all furniture. We will also be taking temperatures as needed upon entry to the office. Please understand there is a risk to staff and clients and precautions must be taken.

***Monday March 23, 2020: Both offices in DC and Alexandria moved to TELEHEALTH ONLY. This is due to the risk of exposure to clients and staff as well as the many quarantines, reports of illness of staff and clients, and community restrictions in place.***
***We are following recommendations and guidelines of the metro area: As of June 18th, 2020 both areas/states are moving into Phase 2. Our Alexandria office is Northern VA which is part of the VA extension. At this time telehealth services will continue through June 2020. In July we will move to "At-Discretion" of client and therapist. This means we will offer in-person appointments if needed or requested. If your therapist is at-risk or vulnerable this will not be an option yet. Please talk with your therapist about next steps. If you have been exposed or have symptoms you will not be seen in-person. Insurance companies are also transitioning out of their COVID-19 temporary coverage. This means some plans will not cover telehealth or will drastically decrease reimbursement for telehealth sessions. We will assess these cases individually.***
We implemented a temporary TELEHEALTH OPTION for clients. This has allowed us to continue treatment with our clients during this widespread pandemic while protecting our clients and staff from exposure. We have provided LIMITED intakes during this time. IF YOU ARE A FIRST RESPONDER or FRONTLINE MEDICAL RESPONSE PLEASE LET US KNOW.
Insurance companies are reporting that there will be coverage for telehealth services. At this time CIGNA, AETNA, Carefirst/BCBS and TRICARE/HUMANA are covering for most plans. AMERIHEALTH also confirmed coverage. In July 2020 some of these insurance companies will begin their transition back to regular coverage.
We have been using a HIPPA compliant platform for our Video/Telehealth sessions through our email system which is provided by Google Business. The video system used is called Google Hangouts/Google Meet which can be found in Gmail and Google Business accounts. It can also be downloaded as an app for use. Zoom is the other option we can utilize if needed. When needed other platforms such as Facetime and Skype have been temporarily allowed to be used during this time per government regulations during the COVID 19 response.
We can utilize SQUARE to send invoices for copayments and fees.
Thank you for your patience and please Take Care and Be Well.
